Bookstart Rhymetime for 0 – 18 months
Every Friday 10.30 - 11 am
Someone attends from the Family and Young People's Information Centre on the first Friday of every month to answer questions on childcare, benefits etc.
Bookstart Rhymetime for 18 months – 3 years
Every Monday 10.45 - 11.15am
Storytime Session for 3 - 5 years
Every Monday 4 – 4.30 pm
Warhammer 40k and Lord of the Rings Club for 10-16 year olds
First Thursday of every month – 5.30 to 7.15pm
A club for the older Children’s Library members who are fans of this fantasy game to meet and play. Places are limited to 15 and there is a charge of £1.00 per session.

New Reading Groups
From September 2009 the Barbican Library will be starting new reading groups for children aged 7-14 years to talk about books and take part in book related activities such as games & quizzes.
1st Tues of the month for 7 - 9 year olds
2nd Tues for 10 - 12 year olds
3rd Tues for 13 - 14 year olds

Bookstart
Bookstart is a national programme encouraging all parents and carers to enjoy books with their children from an early age.
They give out a free pack of books to every baby in the UK.
The Bookstart website includes a recommended books list for children under 5 as well as children's activities and a parents blog
